5o'clock Remix
On December 5th/6th, Kayla was up late working on papers and doing a ton of homework. I had long gone to bed. The day after her (basically) all-nighter, I went on facebook. Upon logging in, I saw a post she had posted during the night.
"It's 5 o'clock in the morning... homework is getting boring.... I want to go to bed soon... I'm really missing my bedroom.... but instead I'll just wait here, until my homework is all clear.... and I'll pretend that I was sleeping..."

Birds of Christmas
Even with the distance between us, Kayla finds a way to share her thoughts with me. I love it.
Apparently, she had a thought about the song "12 Days of Christmas" tonight.
"So tonight as I was getting dinner, I listened closely to the "12 Days of Christmas" song and I realized something - if you are getting THAT many birds each day (ex. on the 6th day you got 6 geese, 5 rings, 4 calling birds, 3 french hens, 2 turtle doves, and a partridge... now add that to the birds on the 5th, 4th, 3rd, and 2nd days and you will begin to understand), you might as well just build yourself an aviary on Christmas because you now have a house full of birds. Well done, "true love," whoever you are - you must have a bird fetish."
Here is what I love about Kayla making this statement. As true as it is, Kayla, herself, loves birds. Hopefully her future love takes notes from this song... but doesnt go too overboard.

A Christmas Wedding
Kayla had an interesting thought tonight. "Wouldnt it be terrible to have a wedding on Christmas?!"
"GOSH YES. Though wait. You can choose that..."
Pausing for a moment... "Well, it would be more of a bummer for the guests... shoot. I wouldnt go. Id RSVP saying 'I have a birthday party to attend that day... Its kinda an all day event and Ive been preparing for it since, like, November.'"
